Lesson 5 of 13 · 4 min
Memory slots and Play
Goal: Put the compiled script into a slot, press Play, and see the script name on the OLED.
Steps
Drag the compiled script into a slot
Pick one of the 8 memory slots and drag the compiled script into it. Remember the slot number; you will select it on the Zen at the console.
Press Play
Click Play (the flash icon). Zen Studio Live writes the slot to the Zen and loads the script.
Read the OLED
When a script is loaded, the Zen's OLED shows the script name. If you see the Gearhead logo instead, no script is loaded. yew2K shows its own logo for a 1500 ms menu lockout at boot before the script is ready.
Disconnect from the PC
Unplug the PROG cable. The script stays in its slot on the Zen. Lessons 6–8 connect the Zen to your console.
| OLED shows | Meaning | Do |
|---|---|---|
| Script name | Script loaded and running | Continue |
| Gearhead logo | No script loaded | Select the slot with the Zen's button, or Play again in Zen Studio Live |
| yew2K logo, briefly | Boot lockout (1500 ms) | Wait; the menu is locked out during this |
Check: how you know it worked
- The OLED shows the script name, not the Gearhead logo.
- You know which slot number the script is in.
