Controller into A1

Goal: Confirm the controller is on the one port the script can see.

The script reads your controller through A1 only. A controller on any other port, or one that is not detected, means no menu and no mods, even though the OLED shows the script name.

Steps

  1. Check the port

    The controller cable must be in the front port. The two rear ports are CONSOLE and PROG; a controller there does nothing for the script.

  2. Check the OLED

    The OLED should still show the script name. If it shows the Gearhead logo, go back to Lesson 5.

  3. Test an input

    Move the left stick and press a face button. The console should respond. If it does not, reseat the controller cable in A1.

  4. Try the menu

    Hold L2/LT and press Options/Menu. If the mod menu appears on the OLED, the controller is on A1 and the script is running. If not, work through the three causes: script not running, outdated build, controller not in A1.
